Increasing event engagement through social campaigns
A passion for the outdoors and the local communities have been at the core of Whitehall Garden Centres' decisions for over 50 years. As a family business, they focus on care and quality in everything they do, from their plants to their environmental policies. And they wanted to share that even more with their nearby customers.
They asked Affinity to conduct a series of paid social media advert campaigns to help achieve that and increase attendance and ticket sales for their local gardening courses and events.

To generate the most valuable interest in these events, we utilised the B2C-friendly platforms of Facebook and Instagram. These options are both very lifestyle-oriented, and image-led, making them highly suitable for the audience required. We took a highly targeted approach with the ad audiences and focused our efforts on those within a 13-mile radius of the garden centres, as these would be the most likely to purchase tickets and attend events. From there, we refined the audience through specific interests and demographics to ensure that maximum attendance at events.
All the targeting and refinement ensured that the ideal customers were viewing the ads and resulted in a very positive response in the form of more than one million impressions and an exceptionally high click-to-conversion rate.
