Naturally Affinity were thrilled when they were appointed to work closely with The Estate of Barry Flanagan to develop a new site containing Flanagan’s archive.
The library and website is a living resource for researchers. Comprising of 1,100 archive files with a sample of 2,500 scanned documents in the online archive and 2,000 publications referencing Flanagan in the library.
An intuitive and intelligent search fucntion was required which allows categorised results to enable users to find exactly what they are looking for amongst the vast resource.
As the Estate summarise 'Interconnectivity is at the heart of the website and the unique collection of papers, spanning the whole of Flanagan’s career from the late 1950s to 2009, provide a broad contextual backdrop to the artist’s work. This mixture of sketchbooks, diaries, correspondence, writings, photographs and casting records are intended to be used by researchers as a springboard.'
