A mix between an art fair and a car boot sale!
The first Art Car Boot Fair was held in London in 2004 and has been held every year since, except for 2005. Every year an invited line-up of 150 artists with Turner Prize winners pitching next to rising stars, fine artists next to street artists and everything in between.
2020 saw the organisers of the Art Car Boot Fair having to rise to the challenges posed by the global pandemic. That's where Affinity came in by developing an online version of their famously exuberant one-day event. The new site needed to act both as a "lockdown" iteration in response to the Covid-19 crisis and as a digital counterpart for future events expanding to a new global audience.
Using a custom-built Laravel system, this digital event and website developed by Affinity is a mix between an art fair and a car boot sale, where visitors are able to celebrate with a lineup of fabulous artists. With direct links to studios, artwork for sale and programmed talks the first event was a resounding success with ongoing art sales and future events now being hosted on the new site.
Post Covid the site continues to trade from strength to strength.
