The Norwich Research Park Biorepository is a partnership between Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), Quadram Institute Bioscience (QIB) and the University of East Anglia and provides samples of human tissue to health researchers.
The NRP Biorepository will help drive research into human health by providing human tissue samples. Featuring state-of-the-art facilities to provide material for researchers locally, nationally and internationally all of which is NHS managed – ensuring ethical governance and compliance with legislation.
Affinity were privileged to be entrusted with designing and launching a website for this world leading facility. One of the key objectives was to educate both researchers and patients being asked for consent about the facility, how it works and how it's pivotal in providing vital research into the causes of diseases and the development of effective new treatments.
Affinity worked closely with the client to shoot a number of educational videos to articulate the purpose of the Biorepository, how it works, the ethical standards adhered to and tackle the subject of consent and donation.
Future development will include integration with the Biorepository's (ISL) Achiever Medical software which stores, manages and processes the human tissue bank to allow potential online consent.
